The Meadow Hat Pattern
When I started designing this hat, I wasn’t exactly sure how it would turn out. I loved the look of the swirled ribbed stitch, with its interesting look and simple pattern. I knew I wanted something easy and cute to wear at any time of the year. It started as a beanie, but when it was done it needed something else to give it a finished look, so I added a simple bill and loved it!
When we were doing the photos, my Aunt said it reminded her of Laura Ingalls and Little House on the Prairie. It does have a little touch of the bonnet look to it! The bill is a tad bit long to cover your face a little more for those endless summer days.
Worked from a single skein of our Francesca worsted weight, it has a lovely squish and springiness. The colors allow the stitch pattern to shine through without competing for attention. It’s the perfect hat for summer nights by the beach, and to transition to those cooler autumn nights we all hope are coming soon.
