Gokyo Shawl
High in the Himalayas, the turquoise waters of the Gokyo Lakes provide a peaceful contrast to the majestic peaks that surround them. Designed by Allison Janocha, the different sections of the Gokyo shawl evoke the changing landscapes encountered in Nepal.
Gokyo is knit in two colors of fingering weight yarn. It begins with a textured short row section. The combination of knits, purls, and slip stitches creates the illusion of vertical stripes, although only one color is worked per row. This is followed by garter stitch stripes and eyelet lace, ending with a knitted-on border.
This kit contains one solid skein and one variegated skein. The slipped stitches and eyelets let the beauty of the yarn shine through.
