Coronal (n) A crown or coronet (adj) Relating to the corona of a star

Coronal is the result of a simple question: could I create a two-colored cabled hat with a stunning crown without the need for stranded colorwork? Fortunately, the answer was yes, and Coronal was born. Striped garter stitch and slip stitches mean you’ll never work with more than one strand of yarn per round. Cables and cabled decreases come together to create a stunning star-like crown. The best part? Coronal looks far more complicated than it is!

Pattern is both written & charted.

Allison Janocha lives and designs near Cleveland, OH. When she's not knitting, she enjoys collecting yarn, spinning, travel, baseball, and conducting biomedical research. She has several designs available on Ravelry and can be found on Instagram as Lallison79, where she shares pictures of knitting, travel, her cats, and her strange food purchases.

The Coronal Cowl is designed to use the left-over yarn from the Coronal Hat by Allison Janocha. The first part of the cowl is worked in garter stitch with the tonal colorway. The second part of the cowl is worked in alternating rows of linen stitch and stockinette in the variegated colorway. Knitted on US-10 needles, this quick and easy cowl will pair perfectly with your Coronal hat!

***Cowl was designed by April Reis.
