Today I want to talk about some knitting basics. Sometimes it is just a good idea to refresh our memory and revisit some things that might seem really easy.

Many customers have asked me: What exactly do knit and purl stitches mean?

We made this video tutorial where I will explain why knit and purl stitches are not explicitly mentioned in your knitting pattern and how to tell a knit stitch from a purl stitch. Also, I will talk about the front and back legs when knitting. This video is great if you are a beginner but I think it is also a nice way to refresh your memory if you are an experienced crafter.

I hope this tutorial could help a little bit to clarify what knit and purl stitches actually are. If you have any questions or video requests please write a comment below.

…And as always: #happyknitting!
